Generally dip pens have no ink reservoir, so the user must recharge the ink from an ink bowl or bottle to continue drawing or writing. There are simple, tiny tunular reservoirs that illustrators sometimes clip onto dip pens, which allow drawing for several minutes without recharching the nib. This pen appears to have two retractable tubular reservoirs, so when not in use, can be retracted by using the sliders located on either side of the pen. The slider for the nib and tubular reservoirs all appear to be in good working order. The nib number is 2941 and size M. The nib is stamped with the number and size.
Dip pens were generally used before the development of fountain pens in the later 19th century.
This pen is preowned and in good vintage condition. Length with nib and tubular reservoirs retracted is 10, 6 cm and with nib and tubular reservoirs unretracted is 16,5 cm. Please view images as part of description. Welcome to combine items.
