Rare antique Union Special Class 1900 AZ sewing machine. Although information is scarce on the internet, I would estimate that this antique chain stitch sewing machine would have been manufactured in Germany in the 1890s. It is manufactured from cast iron and measures 34cm (l) x 17cm (w) x 26cm (h), and from what I have read was industrial being able to sew denim. It has a serial number 77967 on the top and has a brass plaque with "Union Special, Maschinenfabrik G.M.B.H Stuttgart, Klass 1900 AZ, Made in Germany" on the front. When the belt pully is turned the needle goes up and down as it should, but it is missing a top bobbin cover slide, and the machine is further untested. It however is in good condition for its age. Great buy for the collector.
