Rare Art Deco German "Lufft" Weather Station.

A vintage weather station by German company Lufft, notable for its elegant mid-century design. It features a burr walnut wooden case with a smooth, polished finish and rounded edges. The centerpiece is a barometer (marked "Change/Fair/Rain") for measuring atmospheric pressure, which is housed in a metallic, glass-fronted enclosure. On either side, there are two smaller dials: the left shows a thermometer for temperature readings, and the right displays a hygrometer for measuring humidity. Each instrument is neatly labeled and enclosed in a similarly styled metallic frame, giving the whole piece a cohesive and refined look. These weather stations were popular in Europe during the mid-20th century, combining functionality with stylish craftsmanship.

The casing is in very good condition. The metal rims display slight age-related wear.  The station is untested and sold as a display piece.  

This type was produced in the 1950s and 1960s during the post-war period when Germany became renowned for precision engineering and craftsmanship in home instruments.  The design often a mix of wood, brass, and glass reflects the Art Deco to mid-century modern aesthetic, which was popular in Europe at the time. Lufft was founded in 1881 and is one of the best-known German names in meteorological instruments. These models became household staples in Germany and parts of Europe, particularly valued for their accuracy and durability. Today, they are often collected as retro décor or by enthusiasts of analog weather instruments.
