Rare Antique 'Bobby' Car Mascot (1910)

This rare, very early, unusual car mascot of a British 'Bobby' policeman has so much character with his pen in one hand and a pad in the other. It appears to be silver-plated on solid brass or bronze, making it a very heavy piece. There's an impressed 'Registration Design' number on his back 'RD540251', dating him to around 1910. I've done a fair amount of research and can't seem to find another one like it and other than minor wear to the plating and marks due to many years of handling, he's in great condition. He stands 8cm high, measures 4,5cm x 3cm and weighs 301g.
