The book exposes the "Mbokodo" (the ANC's internal security department) and its brutality against loyal ANC members who asked for financial accountability from their leadership.The book describes inhumane treatment in camps, including starvation, malaria, torture, and the killing of soldiers who dissented or questioned the leadership.It documents the disillusionment of soldiers who felt the ANC in exile was riddled with greed and corruption, failing to fight for the liberation of South Africa, while living comfortably in exile.

Mwezi Twala was Born in 1944, Twala was brought up as a staunch ANC supporter.He joined MK in 1975 and received training in the USSR, later acting as an instructor.After his torture, he survived and returned to South Africa, becoming a founder member of the Returned Exiles Coordinating Committee, aiming to protect victims of the Mbokodo.
