An EXCELLENT example of a RARE, 1980s SADF 71 Motorised Brigade ' Cape Town Highlanders' Unit Nutria Fielddress Peak Cap. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state of preservation, with detailed Unit Graphic Relief on obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Material is in good order & structural integrity of piece is good. Internal liner system is intact - and rear snap-back adjustable strap system is complete. Stitching is present throughout Cap and screen-printed insignia retains legible clarity. Manufacturer label and size are evident in sweatband.
This piece would have been privately purchased & utilised by members of the SADF 71 Brigade (C.T.H) , who had performed duties in the Operational Area of SWA/Angola. The Cape Town Highlanders formed part of 71 Brigade's Infantry component & were deployed to Sector 10 in September/October 1988.
