An EXCELLENT example of Border War, 1983 / 84  SADF Commemorative Operation Askari  Veteran's Association Metallic Medallion. This piece appears to be in a VF+  state of preservation , with detailed Graphic Design Relief on  obverse and reverse. All insignia present.Minimal Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface.  Medallion remains complete, with clear and defined casting throughout. Surface finish is intact with good pigmentation. 

This piece would have been made available to SADF Veteran's- who had successfully participated in Operation Askari , from December 1983 - January 1984. The Operation involved the combined co-operation of various Units in locating and clearing SWAPO personnel from bases in Southern Angola.
