Welcome to this auction of a FABULOUS Art Deco BURLEIGH WARE Jug! It depicts a Kingfisher swooping down the handle to catch a fish! A variety of bold colors are delicately hand-painted on to the jug and handle to depict the bird, fish and flowers, which are set in high relief. The typical Burleigh Ware black "dashes" pattern decorates the top surround. An unusual bonus is the South African connection on the base in the form of the retailer's name who presented this outstanding jug to a lucky customer! This jug measures an imposing 19cm tall. PERFECT condition- there are no chips, cracks, restoration, or glaze crazing. What a wonderful addition to your jug or Burleigh Ware collection!
