Six Rare 'Cape Silver' (Oltman Ahlers) Table Forks (1810-1827) 

This wonderful, impressive set of six, early 1800's 'Cape Silver' dinner forks in the 'Old English' pattern are by the scarce maker 'Oltman Ahlers'. He worked as a silversmith in the Cape from 1810 until his death in 1827. All the forks are in superb condition with a lovely weight and are clearly stamped with his hallmarks and each have an engraved monogram on the terminal. Very seldom do you come across a complete and matching set of 'Cape Silver' dinner forks, especially in such great condition. They measure 20,5cm in length, with a width of 2,5cm at their widest and together weigh 385g.
