An extremely rare, hard white plastic, twenty piece set of the 'Animals of Africa' series.Launched by Coca-Cola in East Africa as a set of 20 figures and re-issued in South Africa where a much larger 21st figure, a Springbok was added. To collect the series one had to redeem a number of bottle caps to receive a figure in return and vast quantities of Coke were consumed to collect a set.
The set comprises a Lion (92/61), Lioness (93/61), Elephant (94/61), Rhinoceros (95/61), Hippopotamus (96/61), Giraffe (97/61), , Zebra (99/61), Leopard (100/61), Buffalo (101/61), Baboon (102/61), Crocodile (103/61), Hyena (104/61), Eland (105/61), Gemsbok (106/61), Kudu (107/61), Impala (108/61), Sable Antelope (109/61), Wildebeest (110/61), Warthog (111/61) and the Springbok (431/61).PLEASE NOTE CHEETAH (98/61)IS NOT IN THE SET

MARKS:

Base of each animal marked Drink Coca-Cola on one side and Reg. Des. No. as in description on the other.

CONDITION:

Vintage with slight variation in colour from white to light grey. All horns, legs and tails intact.

DIMENSIONS:

Ranging in size from 62mm in height for the Giraffe to 19mm in height for the baboon.
