Rare 'Danish' Art Pottery 'Peacock' Vase (L. HJORTH BORNHOLM)
This fabulous 1920/30's tall Danish stoneware or pottery vase, features a beautifully hand painted peacock on a branch with leaves and berries. This vase was made by the 'Hjorth Pottery' factory, located on Isle Bornholm, which is an island off Denmark. It was founded in 1859 by 'Luritz Adolph Hjorth', who was known for his good quality studio pottery pieces. The vase is in excellent condition and stands 28cm high, a diameter of 11,5cm at its widest and weighs 1310g. It is impressed on the base 'L HJORTH BORNHOLM', with the shape number '44' and has a round 'deer' seal stamp in the centre.
