Offered for sale are a set of three vintage/antique Dutch ceramic wall tiles made by the company De Porcelyne Fles later re-named Royal Delft . The tiles are usually dated between 1915-1940 and are referred to in the antique trade as cloisonne tiles. They are press molded earthenware/majolica with polychrome brightly coloured enamel decoration and gilt /bronze finishes. The tiles are commemorative with heraldic images /coat of arms for the Netherlands, Breda and Zuid Holland. Breda is a city and municipality in the Southern Netherlands in the province of Brabant. Zuid Holland or Southern Holland is a province to the West of the Netherlands bordering the North Sea, the most populous province of the Netherlands with the Hague as capital and the port city Rotterdam. The tiles are all stamped on the back with the Porcelyne Fles factory stamp and the word Delft. One of the tiles has a printed mark for the retailer Phillipona Den Haag a luxury department store in the Hague specialsing in home ware ceramics, glassware and textiles with a 100 year plus history . As a price comparison comparable individual tiles are priced around 50- 95 US dollars each on ecommerce platforms.
