30 Hour Non Luminous Mark V - World War I British Royal Flying Corps (RFC) Pilots official pocket watch made by Electa circa 1916 in good Working Condition.
Mark V was the standard issue pocket watch for the British Royal Flying Corp pilots during world war I starting from 1916. Once inside the aircraft these 30 hour watches became chronometric instrument , which the pilots fit into the instrument panel.
Only four company was manufacturing these watches for the British Army - Electa, Omega, Doxa and Zenith.
These watches are reputed of being the most successful watch yet designed for constant use on aircraft for its splendid time keeping and unfailing accuracy.
The watch has a BK marking on the dial which is the manufacturer code for Electa along with a serial number to record the pilots details to whom the watch is allocated to.
The watch case has a Broad arrow or pheon mark on the case which is used by the British government to mark Government property and the capital letter A mark represents Aviation.
The watch is all original and is in very good working condition.
