Voortrekker Monument - Boxed Set of 6 Tea Spoons & 1 Sugar Spoon

Commemmerating 100yrs Voortrekkers Eeufees 1858 - 1938

The handle of all the spoons have a detailed raised decorativel finish which shows the oxen pulling a wagon to the Voortrekker Monument. A RARE and Gorgeous Afrikaana Collectable piece! I have not seen another set like his before, and if this item does not sell, I would be very happy to keep it for myself! !

This SOLAFABRIEK/Sola Zilver Boxed set for Teaspoons was made by M.J. Gerritsen at the beginning of the 20 Century. The company was founded in 1909 by MJ Gerritsen. It was know as the first Dutch factory of new silverware. In 1925 the name was officially changed to Gerofabriek NV, although that name was used for many years. Solafabriek is a name that is also indicated on the box.

Please check the markings as I do not know if it is Silver or Silver Plate?? But the metal is a very good quality and fair weight.
