The piece is in an GOOD, USED CONDITION- Badge Graphic Design Relief is present and ddetailed.Insignia remains in a Good State and has been utilised.Appropriate signs of Wear evident due to handling. Surface toning may be visible as a result of environmental exposure. A degree of Wear is visible on the Imperial Crown feature & sceptre finial. Lugs are NO LONGER PRESENT.  Item is Ex-Mount.

An EXCELLENT example of Franco-Prussian  War, 1870 -71  German Cuirassier Brass Tschapka / Pickelhaube Insignia Plate. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Item has been subject to handling/ varied environmental conditions. Retention Lugs are NO LONGER PRESENT AND HAVE BEEN REMOVED. Surface toning may be visible. 

This piece would have adorned the Tschapka / Pickelhaube Headdress of Prussian Cuirassiers or Heavy Cavalry. The Insignia  Plate features the Imperial Eagle displaying the House of Hohenzollern Royal Cypher. A appropriate degree of edge wear is present-  with the Eagle's Crown displaying a shortened tip - as well as - the Sceptre finial.
