An expertly crafted hand painted sculpture of Vice Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson (1758 - 1805), the victor of the battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805.
Lord Nelson was tragically killed in the battle against the combined forces of France and Spain, but it secured the British mastery of the seas for a century.
The sculpture depicts Lord Nelson in his naval uniform, complete with his bicorne hat, sword and the naval hero's medals.
It was manufactured by the Danbury Mint as part of the "Great British Military Heroes" collection.
It is worth mentioning that these sculptures were manufactured in limited numbers by the Danbury Mint and that they stop all operations on the 30th of September 2025 due to economic reasons. These sculptures will thus never be created by the Danbury Mint again which will in future guarantee and increase in value.
The figure of Lord Nelson stands on a wooden plinth featuring a coil of rope.
It shows his right sleeve pinned to his jacket, a historical detail acknowledging the loss of his arm in 1797 during the Battle of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The pose is inspired by his statue atop Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square, London.
Total height is approx. 31cm tall
Wooden plinth measures approx. 12cm x 11cm and 7cm high

There are some paint imperfections due to the fact that the sculpture is hand painted.
