A fine example of George Alcocks Tea Pots Can be Found in the Metropolitan Museum in New York

The earliest known example of an English sterling silver teapot was hallmarked in 1670 and is currently on display in the Victoria and Albert museum. Tea was an expensive luxury throughout the 18th Century and silver teapots from this period are rare, with good condition examples being highly sought after. Styles of teapots have changed over the years in line with fashion trends, and now arts and crafts, art deco, and modernist designs are equally as desirable.
