These two beautiful lacquered hand painted antique buffalo horn cups are from the Meiji/Showa period in Japan. The larger cup is 5.3 centimeters high. The cups are decorated with intricate hand-painted designs with birds and a tortoise, which are in excellent condition. The cups are also in good condition, with only a slight chip to one, shown in the photos. Lacquered and hand painted buffalo horn cups are a rare and unique type of Japanese antique.
