A small earthenware jug made by the renowned German potter Anton Lang (1875–1938), who was famous not only as a ceramic artist but also for his role as Christ in the Oberammergau Passion Play in 1900, 1910 and 1922. See below for photos of Lang at his potter's wheel and as Christ in the play.

The jug has been well used (probably as a vase) but is still in good condition (except for a minute glaze crack inside the jug just below the rim). Height 125 mm; base diameter 74 mm.
