Offered for sale is a fine, large beautifully potted Linn Ware bowl in a rare grey-mauve coloured glaze. It is a large ,imposing piece which would command attention in an interior or on a table setting. It is a hand thrown and glazed bowl made from a red bodied earthenware with a streaked and mottled glaze brush painted on to the body of the piece. The base is marked with the Linn Ware studio  logo LW letters contained in a circle stamped into the clay with a lug. It has an elegant bulbous shape tapering outwards  from a circular foot rim  to a wide round  aperture . The bowl is in good condition. This item was made by the Linn Ware manufactory located in Cullinan Olifantsfontein on the East Rand of Johannesburg. The piece was made by highly skilled female expatriate British art potters and dates to approximately 1940-1950.

The dimensions are : diameter of the top aperture interior 24cm ;diameter of the top of the bowl 27cm  ; diameter of the base 13.9cm ; height 12.5cm

Postage is R110 for Sapo delivery or R130 for courier delivery. Collection is welcome in Emmerantia Jhb
