Rare Lucas `King of the Road` Motorcar Oil Lamp. No 724. Circa 1900-1914.

A rare early 20th Century oil-powered car sidelamp by Joseph Lucas Ltd.  This is the "King of the Road, No.724" model.  Solid brass body with carry handle.  Flange-mounted with a cherry red tell-tale lens. 

Bears a copper plaque stating "LUCAS, No.724, KING OF THE ROAD, JOS. LUCAS LTD. B'HAM".  The lamp is complete with burner.  These lamps were fitted to vehicles manufactured 1900-1914.

Height (including handle) : 31 cm
