Antique Carved 'NATAL - ZULULAND' Tobacco Pipe (SERGT. F.J. DOWSE)
This scarce, historical, South African wooden tobacco pipe from the early 1900's, belonged to a 'Sergt. F.J. Dowse' who served with the 'Durban Light Infantry' (D.L.I.) during the Boer War and in the 'Natal 1906 Bambatha Rebellion'. It has been hand-carved with a 'Zulu Warrior' holding a shield and his spears, with the words 'NATAL' & 'ZULULAND' around the warrior and 'SERGT. F.J. DOWSE' underneath. The pipe is in great condition and measures 13cm x 6,5cm x 3,5cm.
