Offered here is this Stunning PHILIPS WELTRON Record player, designed by Patrice Dupont, dating back to the late1960's. This example appears to have never seen any use, having spent its entire life stored in the original polystyrene protective case.
This lovely example has the Blue flip-open lid, with the central speaker. This unit has a speed control allowing 33, 45, and 78 RPM play, and a separate pitch control feature. It can be operated through an electrical mains source, or by means of batteries for the benefit of portability. The original stylus is present. There is a slide-out carry strap fitted to the front (see photo).
I have collected this turntable, purely for the aesthetic beauty of the classic style, and have never used it. This model is featured in the "L'Utopie Du Tout Plastique" book.
This unit measures 30cm in diameter, and stands 11cm high.
CONDITION Wise this turntable is EXCELLENT. There are no chips faults or marks (see photos).
There are some light scratches on the plastic, which can be polished out. The arm moves perfectly as it should, the front clip is faultless, and the lid hinge works perfectly. The polystyrene case is still excellent, with no breaks, holes or damage.
I take extra care in the packing of all my items, which are sent securely packed, thus ensuring a safe journey.
We will gladly combine shipping of multiple items won, to help save on shipping costs.
