*Makio Hasuike was born in Tokyo in 1938 and studied architecture and industrial design there. His parents, both artists, encouraged their son's talent from an early age. After completing his degree in 1962, he worked for Seiko for one year. In 1963, he moved to Europe and founded his design studio in Milan, the stronghold of modern Italian design .
Hasuike has designed household items for Villeroy and Boch, Panasonic, Gedy, Seiko and WMF
In over 20 years of design work, Hasuike received numerous design awards. He received the Compasso d'Oro several times and won the gold medal at the 25th Triennale in Milan. Furthermore, he is also represented in the permanent exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
