Born 1930.
Trained as a cabinate maker serving his apprenticeship under Ludvig Pontoppidan.
In 1952 graduated from the Kunsthandvrerkerskolen (School of Arts and Crafts and from the furniture Departement of the Danish Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1955.
Between 1955 - 1957 worked with the architects Kay Kørbing and between 157 - 1960 in the office of Vilhelm Lauritzen.
Since 1962 he has collaborated with architect Tørben Lind.
Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen has taught at the School of Arts and Crafts (Kunsthandvrerkerskolen) becoming Rector of the Departement of Furniture Design in 1967.
He has been a member of the Danish Design Council (DDC) since 1977. Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen has exhibited a many International exhibitions including at the Museum of Contempory Crafts, New York.
