Rare vintage hand carved Ironwood Figurehead by African Shona artists Abraham R. Chikumbirike and Weston Chikumbirike of Zimbabwe. These artists comes from a strong carving tradition as one of the standouts among several members of the well-established & renowned Chikumbirike family of Shona sculptors. Their style is immediately recognizable. With superb detail and remarkably life-like features, the carver's supreme level of artistry and skill is immediately evident. They have achieved magnificence in their work, with great detail, spirit, and humanity. The dense, finely-grained wood is masterfully carved.
Statues are signed and are in mint condition.
