Rorke's Drift Pottery was initiated in the early 1960s by the Swedish artist Bertha Hansson and Helge Fosseus, head of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the South-East Region of South Africa. Since the evolution of South African pottery and ceramics such as Ardmore, these pieces have also followed trend and have become highly prized both nationally and internationally, with their combination of Zulu/Sotho cultural and modernist Scandinavian design with the typical sgraffito incised and hand-painted details on rough base.
This piece, by Lindumusa Mabaso of Rorke's Drift, is dated to 1979 and is in excellent overall condition with no condition issues noted.
Dimensions: the piece measures 22 cm x 18,5 cm x 14 cm. Delivery via Courier to your door is R150.
