Rare Royal Doulton 'Famous Ships - The Sirius' Medium Jug D5957 c1938
A superb embossed '30' medium size jug showing 'The Sirius', which carried Captain Phillip to Sydney in 1778. The low relief detail is hand painted in superb colour, capturing the ship in full sail brilliantly. A lovely finishing touch is the seagull handle which completes the nautical theme. In very good condition. A rare shape to find, especially in such good order. Royal Doulton and special series backstamps with impressed size number 30. Height 11cm, overall width from spout to handle 17.75cm.
