RARE SADF RECCE COMMANDO COMBAT VEST/BATTLE JACKET (Read Description)

A VERY RARE South African Defence Force Reconnaissance Commando Combat Vest/Battle Jacket, similar to the Rhodesian Combat Vest, but thicker canvas
and much more padding around shoulders. Pouch closures are wood toggle loop, like chicom chest rig but with synthetic rope type closures. These vests were likely used before the nylon Niemoller equipment.
This vest was very similar to the one used by 32 Battalion from 1979-1981.
The SADF version clearly shows the Rhodesian influence in colour and layout, although the South African Canvas is a lot heavier than the Rhodesia Material.

Condition: Good. All straps, loops, ties, buckles and toggles intact.
There are what appears to be real time operational tears on the right
hand side top pouch, the pouch cover below it and the bottom front
pouch. The right hand shoulder strap/padding has been repaired by
hand stitching.
