Each volume is 10" x 6¾", pale-brown buckram, unifrom design on top-third of each front-board of soldiers charging on horseback (in red and black blocking), black blocked lettering, hardbacks. Illustrated throughout with colour, toned and monochrome portraits, photographs and drawings; plus maps.
Facing endpapers browned to varying degrees; slight edge and end foxing; very slight edge wear; the usual slight 'marking' one gets with pale bindings of this age; very good, tight, solid copies, no wrappers.
Above average. An indespensible set for any one interested in South African history.
