RARE SUCCULENT SEEDS Adenia spinosa - Caudiciform from South Africa

This member of the Passifloraceae family is found on the southern part of Africa.  It prefers acid mixed soil, well watered in the summer and can dry out in winter. It prefers full sun but can withstand some shade. It can be reproduced both, by cuttings and by seeds. The cuttings will not form a caudex! 

Adenia spinosa is a spiny decid shrub that grows up to 2.5m in height and the green succulent stem can grow up to 1.5m in diameter with a tangled mass of whip-like bluish grey branches armed with slender blunt spines. Sexes on separate plants, creamy-yellow flowers & oval yellow fruits from spring to summer.  It grows in the hot arid bushveld.
