Blood River 6d token.

Rare? / Unresearched?

I can find no trace of this token in the catalogues or on the internet, thus presuming it to be rare and unresearched. It was found many years back at the Blood River Trading store, which is situated between Vryheid and Dundee. I spoke to the son of the late owner, a Mr Coley and he advised me that his father bought the Blood River Trading Store "just after WWII" from a Mr Downes. The son is not sure when Downes had started the shop, but thought it to be in the earlier 1900's.

The token is 22mm in diameter.

The second set of photos have been lightened in order to bring out the detail of the token.
