RARE & VALUABLE South African & other World Coins
As a coin dealer & collector, I have wasted so much time in the past by checking & researching the scarcity of local and foreign coins:- coins that usually turn out to have minimal value.
It is obviously very time consuming to check the rarity of each & every coin online or in printed catalogues.
For example, when I see an old English penny of the 1930s, I know from past experience that there is a very rare coin from that decade, but I cannot remember the exact date, so I have to waste another 5 minutes going through the motions to check which one the scarce date exactly is.
(The correct date is the year 1933 that sold for R1.4 million at auction in 2016, vs. other English pennies of the 1930s that have very little value)
So during the lock-down period, I have spent many days drawing up a list of scarce and rare coins from some commonwealth countries (and others) that I think many South African collectors might encounter when searching through large lots of local & foreign coins.
This catalogue does not provide the value of the coins (anyone can Google that) – it provides a quick & immediate checklist of those coins that are actually scarce or rare: - Coins that can make a BIG difference to your pocket!
Gold and proof coins (and varieties) are not included: - only coins that were issued for general circulation that one might encounter when searching through collections & large lots of coins of the following countries:-
Australia (1910–1963), Canada (1858-1966), British West Africa (1906–1958), East Africa (1897–1963), Great Britain (1818–1965), German East Africa (1890–1916), New Zealand (1933–1965), Rhodesia (1932–1964), South Africa (1892–1964) and the United States of America (1892–1964, but Silver Dollars from 1878).
(As a bonus, I will include an extra catalogue that indicates the silver pureness of the coins of 47 countries since the 1800s. I use this list virtually every day myself to check the silver pureness (e.g. 50%, 72%, 80%, 92.5% etc.) of coins that I encounter in person or on websites like BidorBuy or E-Bay)
This is an E-Catalogue, and will be sent to you electronically, so there are no shipping costs involved.
