On Offer: A rare Vatican Knight's Cross of the Order of Saint Sylvester, Class ( Seria - 1A )
The Order of Saint Sylverster was initially instituted by Pope Gregory XV1 in 1841 and was reformed in this form in 1905.
It was awarded to non Clergy, men and women who actively promote the cause and welfare of the Catholic Church, through their personal and professional lives.
The decoration consists of a metal golden maltese cross with a medallion in the centre, rays of gold protrude between the arms of the cross.
In the middle of the cross there is a medallion with the figure of Saint Sylvester hanging from a black ribbon with three red stripes.
This beautiful medallion was awarded to Rag. ( Mr ) Quintino Sacco, issued in 1961. Class 1a - issued to Men and Ladies, Knight's Cross of the Order of Saint Sylverster.
There is a scroll and a photo of the recipient which is not shown, but will be supplied with this medallion.
Please Note :The medallion is in excellent condition and has a Rosetta button. The miniature medal has some damage to the white enamel and the set is not boxed.
