Rare Vermeer Milkmaid Delft Blue Tile | 1970s German Ceramic | Rijksmuseum Amsterdam
a rare and exquisite Delft blue ceramic tile featuring a reproduction of Johannes Vermeer's iconic painting The Milkmaid (Het Melkmeisje), also known as The Cook (Die Küchenmagd). This 15 cm x 15 cm square tile, made in Germany in the 1970s, is a stunning tribute to one of the most celebrated works of art housed in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
The tile is crafted from high-quality ceramic, with a beautiful Delft blue transferware print protected by a clear overglaze. The reverse side shows some minor discoloration, while the front exhibits light grazing that is not detectable by fingernail, all of which are typical for vintage pieces.
