This rare Victorian and Art Nouveau caviar stand and cover is honestly a very impressive piece. In forty years of trading I haven't come across something like it. The silver-plated stand/bowl has a wide, attractive, chased and pierced border and two large, floral detailed scroll handles. The stem is coned shaped with floral chasing and is attached to a beautifully chased floral base (the flowers and stems are all in high relief). The well-fitting domed lid has a floral finial. I can't find any makers marks, which is surprising for a piece of this quality and beauty. Other than some minor wear to the base, it is in immaculate condition. It measures 30cm in height (including the cover), 26cm in width (at its widest) and weighs 1030g.
