Description: An exceptional early 20th-century Swiss mechanical watch head from Roamer (Meyer & Studeli SA). It features a warm, aged champagne dial with bold, raised art-deco style block Arabic numerals, thick cathedral-style hands, a rail-track minute border, and a sub-seconds register at 6 o'clock. The dial is signed "ROAMER" and "SWISS MADE". The watch head is constructed with fixed wire loop lugs in a classic cushion-shaped, gold-filled hinged case.
Case & Movement Details:
Hinged Case Back: Features an ornate cursive monogram engraving ("HBB"), stamped "ROLLED GOLD / 10 YEARS GUARANTEE" alongside serial reference 5538.
Swiss Movement: Opening the hinged case back reveals a classic early MST / Roamer manual-wind movement stamped "SWISS MADE / 7 JEWELS" with a subtle cursive logo engraving on the bridge.
Condition: Pre-owned antique project piece. The 7-jewel mechanical movement is currently not running and is being sold strictly as-is for parts, repair, or full horological restoration. The dial and hands display heavy, honest age patina and darkening. The rolled-gold case exhibits wear-through along high-contact edges and general surface scuffs. The crystal lens shows fine age scuffs.
Estimated Fully Restored Value: R2,900 to R5,000
Sold as a standalone watch head (fixed wire lugs, no strap) strictly as-is.
