Rare vintage Coronation Coach and Britains Coronation Chair for 1 bid. This rare lot consists of:
I think that this is a 1953 Lesney Matchbox miniature plated horse drawn Coronation Coach. The entire toy measures about 11.5cm, and the coach can be detached from the horses. The coach is plated, and the body and wheels are attached by crimped flat head pins. The horses are die cast with 4 coachmen on the left hand side. The horses are painted white with red blankets and gold saddles. The drawbar is marked "Made in England". The coach is unboxed, but in good condition for its age - some plate wear.
Rare boxed Britains 86D (1953) gilt Coronation Chair. It comprises of a Coronation Chair with separate seat & Stone of Scone. The box reads "Built by Edward I, to enclose the Stone of Scone, called the Stone of Destiny, upon which the ancient Kings of Scotland were crowned. Every Sovereign of England since then except Edward V, Mary I, Mary II and Edward VIII, has been crowned in this chair." The chair is in good condition as is the box except for a couple of watermarks.
