Holland-Afrika Lijn was initially (1920s) a joint operation of Holland-Oost-Afrika Lijn (VNS) and Holland-Zuid-Afrika Lijn,
which had formerly operated via the east and west coasts respectively. The latter line was merged into VNS in 1932. This vase was part of the table setting on the ocean liner
