RARE WILEMAN (before) SHELLY Plate
QUEEN VICTORIA 1887 DIAMOND JUBILEE
This listing is for one of four rare plates commemorating the 1887 Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The design has the Coat of Arms on one side facing the Crown and Jubilee banner on the other side, and eternal olive sprigs trailing across the surface. The bottom has the registration # 64761 allocated to the Wileman (Shelly) company from 1887.
The condition of the piece is pristine no chips, or crazing.
Please note how pristine the glaze is, the colours are bright and vivid, just as the day they were designed.
It measures 6-7/8" (17.6 cm) square.
This item has been discovered in the roof cavity of an old house in Cape Town. Some of the items have not seen the light of day for over 120 years, their crisp clarity of colour and perfect gilding attest to the fact that they have almost certainly never been used.
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY.
I have listed these plates separately; however I am prepared to combine postage and packaging.
