Surface toning may be noted. Retention pin is complete w/ catch ( possible period replacement). Issue Number is legible & clearly impressed onto rear surface. Item is Second-Hand.

An EXCELLENT example of a World War I , British Empire .925 Silver Wound Badge (SA Issue). This piece appears to be in a VF/F state of preservation, with detailed Graphic Relief on  obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Toning may be visible. Retention pin and catch are intact - however - pin shaft may be a period repair. Only the Wound Badge is present - NO CERTIFICATE. The Issue Number is clearly impressed on the reverse and is legible. 

This piece would have been issued to South African members of the Imperial Forces, who had been wounded or declared no longer fit for service during the Conflict from 1914-18.
