An EXCELLENT example of a RARE,  World War I   1916  German 'D.O.A' Field Minted 20 Heller Coin.  This piece appears to be in a Fair state of preservation , with detailed Graphic Design Relief on  obverse and reverse. All insignia/ nomenclature present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Toning may be noted throughout. This item is a field-struck variant, and will display appropriate planchet edge and face deformation. Coin has possibly been subject to circulation. 

The 1916 - issue German East Africa currency, was produced mostly at the Tabora Field Mint located at the Tabora Railway Yard. This formed the foundation of emergency issue coins , that were produced in the territory of Tanganyika under the supervision of Field Marshall Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck.
