An EXCELLENT example of WW1 South African Railways & Harbours Brigade Brass Shoulder Titles & Divisional HQ Felt Flashes & Roundel. This assortment of pieces appear to be in a VF/VF+ state of preservation , with detailed Graphic Design Relief on obverse and reverse for Metallic Badges. All insignia/ symbology present. Appropriate Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surfaces. Items remain in a used , yet well-preserved state. Metal Shoulder Titles retain a good lustre , with a degree of surface toning / variable discoloration due to alloy composition. Pressed Wool Felt material Divisional Flashes & Roundel appear intact , with minor edge wear (possible traces of insect interference). Material pigmentation is good- with all stitching & hem-lines presenting as complete. Metal Badges display good structural integrity with the Voided Panels & retention lugs, all well integrated. It must be noted, that elements of the SA Railways & Harbours Brigade were incorporated into 8 SA Infantry (2nd SA Brigade) during the conflict.
