The piece is in an GOOD, USED CONDITION - Bayonet Retention Frog is present and detailed w/ fittings. Leather remains in a Good State and has been utilised. Appropriate Signs of Wear evident due to handling. All necessary Military & Date markings are evident on reverse. Brass Buckle and adjustable tab is intact. Item is over 100 years old and has been utilised.

An EXCELLENT example of World War I , SA Union Defence Force Patt.1907 Bayonet Leather Retention Frog. This piece appears to be in a VF state , with all necessary metallic fittings and adjustable tabs. All parts appear present. Appropriate Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Leather remains supple and pliable- however , handle carefully due to age. All UDF and later SAP acceptance markings are visible on reverse- along with Date & Manufacturer Stamp. 

Markings may have faded , but do remain legible and intact. This piece would have been utilised by UDF Servicemen with the Pattern 1907 Bayonet ;  during the various Campaigns in German South-West & East Africa. 

The ideal addition to any SA World War I  Era Leather kit collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
