An EXCELLENT example of World War 2, 1930s German M31 Aluminium Canteen w/ Felt Cover & Accessories. This piece appears to be in a VF state , with Canteen retaining the original securing lid. All fixed necessary parts appear present. Appropriate Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Leather fittings are supple yet delicate and securing buckle is intact and appears complete. The Aluminium tension clasp is intact and all press studs present on Felt Cover are functional. Aluminium body of Canteen will display some degree of wear - in the form of a few small indentations due to usage.
The components of this M31 Canteen Assemblage, are all original and matching with the manufacturer code : ' MN38 ' appearing on the lid, Canteen neck , and Felt Cover. It must be NOTED - THAT NO DRINKING CUP IS EVIDENT- NOT PRESENT. This piece would have been issued to all members of the German Wartime Armed Forces (Wehrmacht) from 1935 until the end of hostilities in May 1945.
