An EXCELLENT example of a RARE, World War 2 , 1940s UDF  'Amoeba' Pattern Camouflage 'Brodie' Steel Helmet w/ Webbing Chin-strap. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state , with detailed applied Camouflage Design Relief on  obverse and reverse. All features appear present, with noted areas of wear due to usage . Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Helmet comprises of ONLY , the steel shell & original webbing chin-strap.

The lining is NO LONGER PRESENT- however, the piece does retain an original inscription featuring a UDF Personnel Number. A Post-War name also remains legible. 

This piece would have been altered by a member of the South African Forces , operating in the North African & Italian theaters of the conflict. The Helmet camouflage scheme has been utilised to suit the environmental requirements of the arid conditions thereof. 

The ideal addition to any SA/ UDF  Second World War Era , Camouflage Helmet collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
