The Great Clock is ticking down as Ratchet discovers that his old enemy Dr. Nefarious is behind Clank’s kidnapping. With help from a mysterious Lombax, Ratchet must embark on a new mission to save his robotic buddy.

The storyline first set into motion in Tools of Destruction reaches its climax in the weapon-packed action title Ratchet & Clank - A Crack in Time.

In Ratchet & Clank - A Crack in Time, the events set up in Tools of Destruction come to a conclusion, helping to answer questions the series has left open until now. Now separated from one another, players take on the roles of Ratchet and Clank in separate missions as they fight to be reunited.

Leaving its linear gameplay behind, A Crack in Time now offers more open environments for players to explore, each filled with hidden gadgets and new abilities. The series’ puzzled-based sections make a return, this time focused around Clank’s new time manipulating abilities.
