1 Recce Diver badge was later renamed to Army Diver badge because the Diver course was not specified for 1 Recce operators only.
The Army Diver badge was used from 1972 until the last serving member left the service. The badge was replaced with the 4 Recce AD badge, but operators still had to do a conversion to be awarded the 4 Recce Attack Diver Shark badge.
The badge is in excellent condition.
This badge is from the first batch that were in bronze. They were later replaced with the same design, but in brass due to corrosion on the bronze type.
Many years later, in the mid 80`s, these Siebe Gorman design badges were replaced with the 4 Recce Trident fork/Shark badges.
All original pins still intact.
Latch type on visor.
