Here on auction we have (what I believe to be) a new/mint/ un-issued (no fading and no damage) Recce (SA Special Forces) copy uniform produced in the 1980's for use on Ops in esp Southern Angola - The item is a copy of the Russian "Afghan tropical" uniform widely issued and supplied to insurgents and terrorists in Southern Africa by the Russians during the proxy wars fought here in Southern Africa.
PLEASE NOTE that as far as i am aware if this was genuine russian (cpatured uniform stocks) then there would have been the typical russian Cyrillic language black ink stamps inside the item - this one is devoid of all such traces.
The item has its tags intact (a truly great find and rare to find with such intact and undamaged - and confirms certian aspects of the recce copy camo programe ;-) - please see the below pic taken in the SA SF musuem of a mannequin dressed up as a puesdo operator and wearing the exact same Russian Afghan tropical uniform (mustard) cotton shirt:
The Recces (SA Spcial Forces had an extensive copy camo programme in which they produced close copies in orignal cut and SADF cut uniforms of the enemies camo uniforms encountered in Angola and Mozambique (and elsewhere) during the 1970's and later years. The SA Special Forces (Recce's) produced these items in many copy camo patterns for use by own forces when operating behind enemy lines and during false-flags ops and psuedo ops.
