Recycling Your Food-Waste Into Soil-Food.
Food-waste shouldn’t be “waste”. Most of us treat food-waste – especially the cooked stuff – as a hazard and a messy smelly fly-ridden problem.
With bokashi - wheat-bran inoculated with beneficial bacteria, fungi and yeasts - all food-waste can be turned into a food for soil. With no waste. No smells. And no flies.
Using anaerobic digesters, ALL food-waste - including cooked and uncooked meat, sea-food, onions, citrus, potatoes – is layered with bokashi bran and kept sealed. In the air-tight digester the beneficial bacteria ferment the food-waste stopping rotting and ridding it of pathogens such as e-coli and salmonella.
After the food-waste has been fully fermented, it is added to soil or composted with garden clippings where it rapidly turns back into microbe rich soil or compost.
Now instead of your food-scraps being waste, with bokashi you can turn it into a highly beneficial food for your soil.
